Dimitrios Theodoropoulos was born 27th of August 1983 in Athens/Greece. He was raised in Volos, where he had his first formal studies in music. He graduated from The Nakkas School of Music in the Jazz department in Athens the year 2005 as a guitar player with a scholarship for the Berklee College of Music in the USA. The next two years he studied Cuban Tres in Cuba at ISA (Instituto Superior del Arte). He has been performing and teaching in the area of Athens. The year 2016 he released and performed around Iceland his first project for solo Jazz guitar named ´´Jazz Miniatures´´ . Since 2021 he is the leader of ´´Babybop´´ a project dedicated to ´´Standards Jazz´´ providing the oportunity to young aspiring improvisers to work play and learn the Art of Improvisation in colaboration with older musicians. Currently he is performing solo or in variable formats around Iceland while teaching guitar in the music school of Akureyri (Tonak). He is the father of two children.
